Sitting like a jewel in the capital’s crown, this Selwyn Terrace house has had some illustrious owners.
Two judges, a real estate magnate, a naval officer, a poet and for a period, broadcaster and journalist Barry Soper, have all owned the home in the past. Its neighbours are equally illustrious.
The Prime Minister lives nearby, as does a QC with a knighthood and several notable MPs. But that proximity to power isn’t what drew current owners the Reverend Michael Brantley and wife Susanne to the home, or what they will miss when the family leave to take up a posting with the Anglican Church in Christchurch.
