Celebrating Excellence: Highlights from the 2024 REIQ Awards for Queensland’s Real Estate Industry
Queensland’s top real estate professionals were honoured for their exceptional contributions to the industry at the 2024 Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) Awards for Excellence. Held at The Star Brisbane, the gala marked the event’s 33rd year, bringing together over 1,000 industry leaders to celebrate outstanding achievements in a vibrant real estate market.
The awards showcased the best of the best across 29 categories, recognising innovation, hard work, and dedication that propelled Queensland’s property market to new heights.
The Night’s Big Winners
Residential Salesperson of the Year
After five years as a finalist, Tristan Rowland of Stone Real Estate Aspley clinched the prestigious Residential Salesperson of the Year award. With nearly two decades of industry experience and a track record of breaking sales records, Rowland stood out among 16 other finalists.
REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella praised Rowland and the other winners for their remarkable contributions:
“Taking home a trophy is never easy. These awards celebrate the dedication and excellence that Queensland’s real estate professionals bring to their clients and the industry.”
Auctioneer of the Year
The Auctioneer of the Year award went to Yianni Mooney of Yianni Mooney Property, a standout after being a finalist in previous years. Mooney’s skill and passion for auctioneering shone brightly in a competitive field.
Large Residential Agency of the Year
Ray White Marsden claimed the title of Large Residential Agency of the Year, with Principal Avi Khan attributing the win to his team’s hard work and collaborative spirit within the industry:
“The support and openness from others in the industry have been instrumental to our success.”
Buyers Agent of the Year
Melinda Jennison, managing director of Streamline Property Buyers, was recognised for her dedication to clients with the Buyers Agent of the Year award.
Rising Stars of Real Estate
Acknowledging emerging talent, the Rising Star Salesperson of the Year award was presented to Ben Ada of Amir Prestige. On the property management side, Sarah Moxon of McAdam & Turnbull Realty took home the Rising Star Property Manager of the Year award.
Regional and Commercial Success
Regional Achievements
Regional Queensland also had its moment in the spotlight. Jacqui Walker of RE/MAX Success took home two awards for her outstanding performance in Settled Commissions and Settled Transactions in the Residential Salesperson Regional category.
Commercial Real Estate Leaders
In the commercial sector, Adam Grbcic of Kollosche Commercial was named Commercial Salesperson of the Year. The Commercial Property Manager of the Year award went to Dale Hoghton of Trident Property Advisory, recognising his exceptional work in managing commercial properties.
