At age 23, Anthony Dart bought a plot of land on the Gold Coast and sold it 13 months later for $101,000 profit. All he did in that time was mow the lawn – twice.
“I’m still amazed about it now,” Dart says. “A lot of young people try and buy small blocks with homes to live in, but the lesson here was land appreciates in value.”
To buy the nearly 700sqm plot of land – his first property purchase – Dart saved up $30,000 of his own money and borrowed $5,000 from a friend who he paid back in two months.
