The $30 million,120-room Sudima Hotel in Kaikoura will be a modular design with the majority of the hotel built offsite, and may be the second modular hotel in New Zealand.
The first modular hotel in New Zealand, the Arden Hotel in central Christchurch, is nearing completion.
Another planned for Wanaka, called B Hotel, is awaiting its final consents. The developers Ecotech Commercial hope to complete the three-level, 35 room hotel by May 2020.
The four-level Sudima Kaikoura is scheduled to be completed in September 2020.
