After three attempts and an expenditure of over $4 million, the lively TV sports presenter, Emma Freedman, along with her husband, asset manager Charlie Rundle, has successfully upgraded their family home. The couple, who recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, decided to move from their Paddington terrace, which they managed to sell for $3.1 million earlier this year.

With their two children, William and Edie, in tow, the family has settled into a beautifully renovated 1920s house in Randwick. This property cost them $4,315,000, and they had secured it in the first week of the year with a delayed settlement arrangement. The original Federation semi near Centennial Park had undergone significant renovations, including the addition of another level, courtesy of A77 Designs.
The home now boasts four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage, all situated on a 247-square-meter plot. Outside, there’s a delightful paved courtyard equipped with a pizza oven and a built-in barbecue. The previous owners, Justin Witherdin, an adviser at Macquarie Private Wealth, and his wife Caela, a senior marketing manager at AIG, have remained in the local area, purchasing a 1905 home with development approval for a second storey featuring a master retreat designed by architect John Normyle, for $4.2 million.

Prior to their successful move, the Rundles encountered challenges when selling their three-bedroom home in Stewart St, Paddington. After two unsuccessful marketing attempts, the property was finally sold through Alexander Phillips at PPD. Fortunately, they were able to secure close to their initial asking price of $3.125 million for the terrace, which they originally bought for $2.19 million in 2016.
