Construction of a 19-storey, $65 million high rise apartment building will start on Dixon Street in May, replacing the earthquake prone Sharp building.
Architect Mike Cole said demolition of the Sharp building at 109 Dixon St was scheduled to start in May
Resource consent was granted at the end of January and the tower was scheduled for completion by the end of next year.
Cole said the “tall and narrow” apartment building would also add another laneway to Dixon St through to Feltex Lane.
