A major project to build 120 homes in Masterton is set to help ease the Wairarapa town’s housing problems.

The $70 million project will be built on two parcels of land off Ngaumutawa Rd, on Masterton’s outskirts.

Wairarapa Jennian Homes managing director Gareth Norris said the project had been in the works since the middle of last year.

“We were doing a subdivision up in Solway Crescent, and we were about halfway through and looking for our next project when this came up,” he said.
