The award-winning Alpine Terrace House creates a striking and dark contrast against a dramatic backdrop of rolling, snowy hills.
This New Zealand home by Fearon Hay Architects is designed as a sanctuary to take in an alpine landscape.
The single-storey abode is located on top of a sloping terrace that’s surrounded by mountain ranges that overlook the Wakatipu Basin in New Zealand’s Southern Alps.
It’s entirely black – both inside and out – but despite this decorative decision, the abode is illuminated effortlessly throughout its expansive windows by the colourful landscapes that surround it.
