A senior real estate agent has failed to overturn a finding that he engaged in unsatisfactory conduct, despite authorities saying he was acting from a place of good will.

Max Vertongen, the principal of Unique Realty in Palmerston North, has been fighting against the finding since it was made in October 2017.

But the Real Estate Disciplinary Tribunal dismissed his appeal in August, saying the finding was justified.

The finding came about after Unique Realty listed a property in Palmerston North, which was owned by a company run by James Dunlop and rented by a company run by his father Craig Dunlop.
