The Bellevue Hill home of the late Ernest Bowden — who died in May 2017 at the age of 105 — has hit the market with a $3 million guide.

And the proceeds are set to go to nine animal charities.

The original Californian bungalow at 165 O’Sullivan Rd has just two bedrooms but Sotheby’s managing director Michael Pallier expects young families to see the potential of the 553 sqm block.

Mr Bowden’s friend — and cousin by marriage — the entertainer Sylvia Raye, who famously sang to the troops during the Vietnam War, is ensuring most of the proceeds from the sale go to nine animal charities.
