According to STUFF residents of the small Southland settlements of Orepuki and Tuatapere are not about to have Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her partner Clarke Gayford as neighbours.
For weeks there has been speculation online and in rural circles that Gayford had bought farmland near Orepuki or Tuatapere.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Prime Minister has confirmed that: ‘’the Prime Minister and Mr Gayford have not purchased any property in Southland, Fiordland or the Catlins.
Speculation may have been fuelled by an episode of Gayford’s TVNZ programme Moving Houses. In one episode, he filmed a Southland couple who moved a house from Christchurch to Tuatapere.
