The Block Publicists Dismiss Rumors of Scott Cam’s Departure After Season 19

Publicists for the popular renovation series, The Block, have swiftly responded to recent claims suggesting that the show’s beloved host, Scott Cam, will be bidding farewell following the conclusion of this year’s 19th season. Channel 9, the broadcaster of the show, has vehemently denied the rumors surrounding Scott Cam’s potential departure from the show after a remarkable nine-year tenure.

Reports surfaced on Monday, indicating that producers were scrambling to find a suitable way to honor the veteran television presenter if he were to leave the show. An alleged “insider” disclosed to Yahoo! Lifestyle that Cam might not renew his contract after the current one concludes, which is expected to end before the 20th season.

In response to these speculations, the insider revealed that the show is contemplating a grand reunion special featuring iconic teams from past seasons. Phone calls have reportedly been made to these stars, building up anticipation for the special event.

However, The Block’s publicist swiftly dismissed these claims, categorically stating that the report is untrue. Scott Cam himself has previously expressed enthusiasm for the show and is thrilled to kick off another season.

The upcoming 2023 season of The Block will take contestants back in time to the 1950s, also known as the Golden Age. The challenge for the teams is to renovate five houses built and designed in that decade, known as the Charming Street homes in Melbourne’s Hampton East. These homes, with their original furnishings and structures still intact from 70 years ago, hold a median price of almost $1.65 million, located in a suburb surrounded by bustling shopping centers and recreational facilities.

Despite the rumors, it appears that Scott Cam will not be departing this season. However, there will be a new addition to the judging panel, as WHITEFOX CEO and real estate guru Marty Fox joins Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer to critique the homes, filling in for Neale Whitaker, who decided to reduce his workload to support his partner through health challenges while spending more time at home.
