Meet Australia’s ‘celebrity’ real estate agents: The high-rollers selling homes worth tens of millions

A former grand Edwardian at 10 A’Beckett St is for sale, after it became “derelict, unliveable and unsalvageable” from a house fire about six years ago.

But despite the historic property reduced to ruin, it’s listed with a whopping $3.2-$3.5 million price guide.

A massive midnight storm caused lightning to strike a nearby tree, which fell onto the period-era property, in 2014.

The Herald Sun reported the property was destroyed on the same day the former homeowner’s daughter, Imogen Whittaker, was due to complete a VCE exam. The Metropolitan Fire Brigade estimated damage of about $850,000 at the time.

But Abercromby’s Real Estate agent Jack Richardson said the wreck was primed to “rise from the ashes” after its “bizarre” circumstances.
