Sydney Swans star Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin and his wife Jesinta have quietly sold their Rose Bay home for close to $4m and bought an apartment for about $5m off-the-plan nearby.

Franklin, who is regarded as one of the greatest AFL players of all time, bought the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home for $2.35m in 2014 two years prior to their 2016 marriage.

Modifications to the celebrity couple’s home have been closely monitored by the media, with their decision to paint the facade a dark charcoal colour in 2017 criticised and a huge front wall and gate appearing a year later.

But sale photos pitched to buyers by Biller Property principal Paul Biller and Matthew Ettia reveal a tasteful internal redesign and resort-style pool, an in-built daybed and seating.
