Geoff Ainsworth, of the billionaire poker machine family, has joined the ranks of Palm Beach’s growing cohort of corporate hot shots with an $8.65 million purchase of a 1928-built beach house.

The purchase by the eldest son of pokie tycoon Len Ainsworth comes as Palm Beach, once a celebrity getaway for the likes of Elle Macpherson and Rachel Griffiths, has developed a new set of groupies in recent years thanks to the deep pockets of corporate and finance industry leaders.
