Two very lavish and expensive properties in Mt Pleasant could soon become the target of an asset raid by the US Department of Justice.
Zhenya Tsvetnenko and his wife Lydia separated in August, but the indictment against him in a telecommunications fraud case strongly suggests investigators will probe the family’s wealth.
It refers to possible forfeiture proceedings in relation to “all property, real and personal, which constitutes or is derived from proceeds traceable to the commission of the offences”.
But the indictment goes further in targeting “other property” if the assets sought under the indictment “cannot be located … have been transferred or sold, or deposited with a third party”.
