As news broke that cricket legend Michael Clarke and his wife, Kyly, are divorcing, the rumour mill was afloat overnight that Clarke’s Bondi Beach sub-penthouse had sold.
There were hopes above $8 million when the luxury pad with beach views hit the market at the start of last spring.
But it’s understood the apartment — bought for $6 million 11 years ago — has sold in the “low seven millions”.
Although LJ Hooker Double Bay’s Bill Malouf and David Malouf were originally the exclusive agents, more recently it became an open listing with at least six agents involved.
None would comment officially, though it’s understood buyer’s agent Simon Cohen and Barry Goldman of Sotheby’s hatched the “super cheap” deal in a late-night negotiation.
