One of the most coveted pieces of motorsport real estate in Australasia, and maybe the world, is up for sale over the ditch, and tipped to sell for around $6million.
Number 448 on Conrod Straight (yes, that Conrod Straight) has been listed for sale by Bathurst’s local Professionals Bathurst real estate agency. After having one owner for over three decades, the property went up for sale in 2019 and now it’s back on the market once more.
Much more than just a house next to a track, the property — named ‘Lochinvar’ — covers 89.5 acres. There’s one four-bedroom home and three self-contained two-bedroom cottages on the property — previously used as a bed and breakfast, and occasionally as a wedding venue.
Its size makes it the largest privately held block of land on Mount Panorama. One other big benefit is that it’s accessible from College Road behind it, meaning that those residing at the property can drive in and out as they please during Bathurst 1000 weekend; as opposed to being locked in by the race track.
