Media mogul Kerry Packer’s former home inside Melbourne’s “tower of power” has been snapped up in an ultra-secretive sale.

The full-floor apartment on the 12th level of 99 Spring Street sold for an undisclosed price to “a local buyer”, according to Kay & Burton South Yarra partner Oliver Booth – who told Property Confidential he had to sign a nondisclosure agreement regarding the sale.

The property was listed with a $6.2m-$6.8m price guide.

“It’s an absolutely incredible apartment and there are only a few like it in the building,” Mr Booth said.

“We received multiple offers on it.”

The vendor stripped the three-bedroom apartment to a concrete shell and fully refurbished it to create a new luxury residence with sweeping views.

Packer owned the high-rise home from the 1980s through to 2000, when it sold for $1.4m according to CoreLogic records.
