Former LJ Hooker Sales Director, Alex Lumsden, has launched a new online, digital-first real-estate agency startup, Lumsden Agency.

To celebrate the launch, Mr Lumsden is offering to waive all agency commission and sales fees for five Sydney homeowners through a limited-time offer on the agency’s website.

Alex Lumsden, 32 grew up in Como in his grandparents house, went to Sutherland Shire Christian School and has now started Lumsden Agency, which has its main base of operations in Barangaroo.

Mr Lumsden said that the COVID-19 crisis has laid bare the shortcomings of traditional brick and mortar real-estate agencies and accelerated his ambitions to offer clients an alternative suitable for digital and online selling in the 21st century.

“Homeowners and families across Australia have been rocked by the COVID-19 crisis, which in turn has presented significant challenges for the real-estate industry,” he said.

“It has also demonstrated how woefully unadaptable and non-resilient the industry is, and homeowners, many of whom were left without clear guidance or support during this time, have been crying out for an alternative.

“I am launching Lumsden Agency, to meet the needs of today’s modern market, which requires selling strategists and property marketers who understand how to reach and engage audiences online, and who can help guide anxious buyers and sellers through these uncertain times, when the emphasis on physical viewings is greatly diminished or simply not viable.”
