The cricket world is reeling from the death of one of its brightest stars in Australian Shane Warne, who passed away aged 52 from a suspected heart attack at his home in Thailand. Shane played over 300 games for his country and took 708 test match wickets over the course of his career, leading many to regard him as the best leg-spinner of all time.
Warne was also loved across the UK despite the nation’s fierce cricketing rivalry with Australia, and Warne’s prowess having tormented English fans watching the Ashes for years. He played domestically for the county of Hampshire and made his home in London too, dating one of the nation’s biggest stars in Liz Hurley.
He had since become a familiar face on TV, appearing in the Australian I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2016 as well as regularly working as a pundit and commentator for Sky Sports.
When he was in the UK Shane would reside in his £2.7 million home in Maida Vale, West London.
The impressive property boasts a tennis court, fishing lake, housekeeper accommodation and 21 acres of woodland. Equine fan Liz will have been impressed by the property’s Edwardian stables and open fields.
