Complete with a bowling alley, jet ski garage, library, gym and theatre, the late cricketer had lofty hopes for his $5m Melbourne mega mansion.
While the future of Shane Warne’s dream mega mansion remains unknown, the late cricket star had lofty plans to build a luxurious $5 million escape.
Nestled in the affluent seaside town of Portsea in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, the late cricket legend paid $4m for the block of land in October 2020.
According to the Herald Sun, the father-of-three had plans to turn the 2000 square-metre subdivided allotment into a family compound.

Plans submitted to the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council on Warne’s behalf in August 2021 revealed his resort-like plans.
The main residence was set to feature a gym, theatre, games room, library, bowling alley, jet ski garage, three car garage, wine cellar and observation deck. Complete with three bedrooms, the master included an ensuite, dressing area and walk in robe.
There were also plans for a four-bedroom guest wing to be built around a pool. The sprawling abode was also set to feature a music room, alfresco bar and separate alfresco barbeque area.

Warne made a string of multimillion-dollar property deals during his lifetime.
Among them was his ‘Melville’ mansion in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton which he bought twice. Warne initially bought the home with ex-wife Simone Callahan in 2000 for $3.6 million, before a large-scale renovation saw him sell it for $8.8 million in 2007.
The cricketer repurchased the property again in 2016. While he had to pay a considerably larger fee for $14.2 million, he made another healthy profit after selling the home for a rumoured $20 million.
