She was a stylist and he was an AFL and SANFL player – now the couple have become masters of house flipping and are preparing to sell their latest project.
It started as a passion project but 18 months later flipping houses is turning into a full-time job for Jodi and Jesse White.
The couple had limited experience when they started – Jodi was a hairdresser and Jesse, a former AFL player with Sydney and Collingwood, was starting a graphic design business while playing for Glenelg in the SANFL.
But they were keen to give it a try and confident they could pull it off.
Now they are preparing to sell the third Adelaide property they have renovated, this one a three-bedroom house at Clearview they bought in June.
“The first one we sold in December 2019, that was all in between having our second child and the SANFL grand final so it was a very busy time,” Ms White said.
“The way we tackled this one was very different to the way we tackled the first one.”
It has since become a full-time job for the couple, with Mr White working on his graphic design business at night.
They have a team of tradie friends they call on to undertake building, electrical and plumbing work but Ms White said they do the rest themselves.
This time they have taken a few more risks, including choosing bolder colours, and have worked many 15-hour days in the past few weeks to get the house at 20 Walton Avenue ready for auction on February 12.
