Wallabies captain Michael Hooper has sold his Northern Beaches home at auction.
Bidding opened at $2.2 million in front of 40 attendees in the backyard of the Fairlight property. It was announced on the market at $2,425,000 and then knocked down at $2.51 million.
The home sold to a phone bidder. It had been listed with a guide of $2.3 million to $2.35 million.
The auction was brought forward by Clarke & Humel selling agent Michael Clarke because of strong buyer interest in the early weeks of the campaign. It was set to go under the hammer next weekend when Hooper is set to play against the All Blacks in the delayed first game of the Bledisloe Cup at Sky Stadium in Wellington.
Hooper bought the classic four bedroom home for $2.065 million in 2016.
Offering open-plan living and dining, an alfresco entertaining area and deep lawns, the bungalow is “a fusion of period charm”, the home’s marketing reads.
