{"id":16221,"date":"2019-01-11T09:48:01","date_gmt":"2019-01-10T20:48:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=16221"},"modified":"2019-01-11T09:48:01","modified_gmt":"2019-01-10T20:48:01","slug":"price-free-fall-rumour-is-overly-pessimistic-says-kpmg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/price-free-fall-rumour-is-overly-pessimistic-says-kpmg\/","title":{"rendered":"Price free fall rumour is \u2018overly pessimistic\u2019, says KPMG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PHOTO:\u00a0Widespread speculation that house prices in Australia\u2019s premier markets are set to go into a free fall is overly pessimistic, according to a new report by KPMG Economics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The report\u00a0<em>Housing Affordability: Sydney and Melbourne housing market update<\/em>\u00a0has found that Sydney and Melbourne house prices will continue to fall further this financial year, before plateauing and then recovering over the following two years.<\/p>\n<p>This is an update to a major study by KPMG Economics released in June 2017.<\/p>\n<p>While there will continue to be price declines in the near term, KPMG expects prices to bottom out in Australia\u2019s two major cities in calendar year 2019.
