{"id":18464,"date":"2019-04-30T09:20:20","date_gmt":"2019-04-29T21:20:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=18464"},"modified":"2019-04-30T09:20:20","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T21:20:20","slug":"asx-sags-on-banks-property-stocks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/asx-sags-on-banks-property-stocks\/","title":{"rendered":"ASX sags on banks, property stocks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PHOTO:\u00a0<span class=\"_2Li3P\">The Australian sharemarket had a weak start to the week.<\/span><cite class=\"ojLwA\"><span class=\"_30ROC\">CREDIT:<\/span>AP<\/cite><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Australian shares backed away from an 11-year high on Monday as investors took a breather after last week\u2019s strong gains, with investors selling out of real estate companies and banks.<\/p>\n<p>The S&amp;P\/ASX 200 index ended the session down 26 points, or 0.4 per cent, at 6359.<\/p>\n<p data-gtm-vis-recent-on-screen-6236702_632=\"41743\" data-gtm-vis-first-on-screen-6236702_632=\"41743\" data-gtm-vis-total-visible-time-6236702_632=\"4000\" data-gtm-vis-has-fired-6236702_632=\"1\">Caution ruled in the Australian market on Monday ahead of a week that will include an interest rate meeting from the US Federal Reserve, key US jobs data and a resumption of trade talks between the United States and China.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can expect flip flops in sentiment each day but by the end of the week, the street should have a much clearer idea of the health of the world economy, the direction of US interest rates and the state of the US-China trade talks,&#8221;
