Sydney-based Trans-Tasman network, One Agency, reports a strong start to the year, adding a dozen new members while anticipating a similar number of newcomers over the winter.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs were the majority of new memberships in 2018, the group continues to attract former franchised offices seeking a less constrained, more cost-efficient environment,\u201d commented CEO and Founder, Paul Davies.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn both New Zealand and Australia we are also seeing a number of our larger offices taking on additional businesses. In New Zealand this could see the number of licenses double by year\u2019s end with similar growth in 2020,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Head of Australasian Membership, John Stewart, commented that new member enquiry had lifted early in the year and dramatically increased since last weekend\u2019s election result added\u00a0 confidence to the real estate\u00a0 sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen coupled with a likely easing of monetary constraints that have limited buyers since mid-2018, we should see a slow climb out of the\u00a0 market\u2019s retrenchment since late 2017.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re also hearing from many individuals and office owners who enquired as long ago as 2010, so I guess like everything, it\u2019s all about timing and confidence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Much of the company\u2019s growth has centred on Victoria, regional NSW and Queensland.<\/p>\n

\u201c New signings in Victoria have been in Northern Melbourne and particularly the Baw Baw, La Trobe Valley and South Gippsland region, which \u00a0will have welcomed five new businesses covering\u00a0 seven licensed areas by the end of\u00a0 July,\u201d Stewart added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe New Zealand market is slowing somewhat, reflecting a spreading economic concern, so growth for us there is all about mergers and acquisitions driven by our stronger members and again, formerly franchised businesses making the switch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul Davies also confirmed that an announcement should shortly be made regarding other off shore markets.<\/p>\n
