{"id":24505,"date":"2020-04-07T09:15:19","date_gmt":"2020-04-06T21:15:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=24505"},"modified":"2020-04-07T09:15:22","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T21:15:22","slug":"why-us-housing-bubble-2-0-is-about-to-burst-forbes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/why-us-housing-bubble-2-0-is-about-to-burst-forbes\/","title":{"rendered":"Why US Housing Bubble 2.0 Is About To Burst | FORBES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PHOTO: U.S. Housing&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">Back in June 2019, I published a detailed&nbsp;<em>Forbes<\/em>&nbsp;piece called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/jessecolombo\/2019\/06\/30\/current-u-s-recession-odds-are-the-same-as-during-the-big-short-heyday\/\"><em>Current U.S. Recession Odds Are The Same As During &#8216;The Big Short&#8217; Heyday<\/em><\/a>.\u201d In that piece, I argued that the U.S. Federal Reserve and other central banks\u2019 aggressive monetary policies since the 2008 Global Financial Crisis created a series of extremely dangerous economic bubbles that would burst in the coming recession. Moreover, I argued that the odds of a U.S. recession in the next 12-months were approximately 64%, which was identical to the recession odds the U.S. economy faced in the Big Short heyday in July 2007. I believe that the U.S. economy was already heading for a recession and that the coronavirus pandemic has acted like a \u201cpin\u201d that burst nearly all of the bubbles that I was warning about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertynoise.co.nz\/category\/international-property-news\/\">RELATED: INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY NEWS<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this current piece, I\u2019d like to take a quick look at one of the bubbles I warned about in my June 2019 piece &#8211; U.S. Housing Bubble 2.0 &#8211; and why I believe it is at risk of bursting in the recession that we are already&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/03\/30\/coronavirus-job-losses-could-total-47-million-unemployment-rate-of-32percent-fed-says.html\" target=\"_blank\">likely in<\/a>.
