A family in Sydney\u2019s south spent big to snap up their neighbour\u2019s house at a hotly contested auction \u2013 and they\u2019ve revealed a bold plan inspired by a trend common in countries such as Italy.<\/p>\n

Two generations of a Caringbah South family joined forces to beat stiff competition at auction for their neighbour\u2019s house with water views.<\/p>\n

The family paid $1.897m for the\u00a0Cumbee Lane\u00a0<\/a>house with views of the Port Hacking waterway and Royal National Park, beating \u201cspirited\u201d bidding from three of the six registered parties.<\/p>\n

The price was $47,000 over the $1.85m reserve and well above the $1.59m-$1.75m guide the property was listed at in a previous sales campaign last year.<\/p>\n
