{"id":27022,"date":"2020-08-24T17:58:40","date_gmt":"2020-08-24T05:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=27022"},"modified":"2020-08-24T17:58:40","modified_gmt":"2020-08-24T05:58:40","slug":"vic-government-proposal-will-make-real-estate-training-harder-and-more-costly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/vic-government-proposal-will-make-real-estate-training-harder-and-more-costly\/","title":{"rendered":"VIC Government proposal will make real estate training harder and more costly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PHOTO: Real Estate Agent study<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Victorian Government has proposed massive changes to the educational qualifications for the real estate industry, and time is running out to oppose them.<\/p>\n<p>If made, these changes will require those planning to enter the industry to spend substantially more time and money gaining tertiary qualifications.<\/p>\n<p>Potential \u2018Agent Representatives\u2019 will be impacted the most, now required to complete 18 units of the new Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice \u2013 currently they need only complete three units.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify as an \u2018Estate Agent\u2019, you\u2019ll need to do the aforementioned 18-unit Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice course, four additional units, plus a 12-unit Diploma of Property (Agency Management) course of 12 units. This almost doubles the unit-load.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed regulations (made under the\u202fEstate Agents Act 1980), are intended to replace\u202fthe\u202fEstate Agents (Education) Interim Regulations 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe proposed education requirements reflect significant changes to standards of competency for estate agents and agents\u2019 representatives,\u201d according to the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese requirements draw on a new training package for the real estate industry that was developed following a national review.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>READ MORE VIA <a
