Picture: Nicki Connolly <span class=\"image-source\"><em>Source: News Corp Australia<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Smashed avo was the buzz word of Aussie property for the last decade, but a dramatic shift is underway as a new world order could flip our housing market on its head.<\/p>\n<p class=\"description\">First there was talk of first-home buyers and their smashed avocado on toast, now another breakfast analogy has been cooked up to explain the current state of the property market.<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-content\">\n<p>\u201cIf smashed avocado had anything to do with housing affordability over the last decade, scrambled eggs will be the dish of the 20s,\u201d said Propertyology head of research, Simon Pressley.<\/p>\n<p>The buyers\u2019 agent and researcher said the traditional \u201cfried egg\u201d town planning model &#8211; where CBDs are filled with office towers, retail and high-density apartments (the yolk) surrounded by an urban sprawl (the egg white) &#8211; is about to be \u201cscrambled\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"w650 h365 image media kskd-media\" data-kiosked-context-name=\"kskdUIContext_01eh3c9k1gwz6sb6fndrd3z8km\">\n<div class=\"image-wrapper\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" image-loaded\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.newsapi.com.au\/image\/v1\/9b6fd979ad9a64c346b8139324a2b541?width=650\" alt=\"Working from home, for people such as Saumya Mehta of Hobart, is changing what they want from their lifestyle.
