\u00a0A modern family house in North Curl Curl<\/a>\u00a0that assimilates into the bedrock of Sydney\u2019s Northern Beaches headlands has been named the best home in New South Wales for 2020.<\/p>\n

Designed by Andrew Donaldson Architecture & Design and built by Mallinger Constructions, the house took out the top prize at this year\u2019s HIA-CSR NSW Housing Awards.<\/p>\n

A defining feature of the home is the incorporation of the natural rock face, while a living room that floats over the lower levels provides views stretching from Dee Why to Bondi Junction.<\/p>\n

The house, which was featured on popular television program\u00a0Grand Designs<\/em>, integrates multiple levels of the natural sandstone cliff into the living areas while also being functional for a growing family.<\/p>\n

It also won the NSW Custom Built Home and Custom Built Home $2 million to $4 million categories at this year\u2019s HIA NSW awards, which were held online for the first time due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

The HIA\u2019s top apartment complex of the year was Crown Group\u2019s Infinity, a luxury apartment tower in Sydney\u2019s inner-east.<\/p>\n

Designed by heralded architecture group Koichi Takada Architects and built by Crown Group\u2019s construction division, the $575 million, 20-storey Infinity was completed in mid-2019 and was named one of the world\u2019s best projects at the 2017 Property Council of Australia\u2019s annual congress.<\/p>\n

A penthouse at the luxury tower was sold earlier this year for a record price of $4.115 million for the\u00a0Zetland<\/a>\u00a0area, while features of the development include resort-style amenities complimented by a comprehensive hospitality precinct.<\/p>\n

The win was the second consecutive year that Crown Group won NSW\u2019s best apartment complex, having won the category in 2019 with its $395 million Waterfall in\u00a0Waterloo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apartment of the Year, however, went to Sydney-based builder Bay State Construction for its opulent development overlooking Coogee Bay.<\/p>\n

The apartment is part of a three-unit building in\u00a0South Coogee<\/a>\u00a0designed by X.Pace Architecture.<\/p>\n

Japan-headquartered Sekisui House received three awards as it won the Project Home, Spec Home and Townhouse\/Villa development over 10 dwellings categories.<\/p>\n

Eden Brae Homes was named Professional Major Builder for the 13th time, while Better Built Homes was the top medium builder, with Blue Eco Homes winning the small builder category.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
