{"id":31763,"date":"2021-04-17T10:07:56","date_gmt":"2021-04-16T22:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=31763"},"modified":"2021-04-17T10:07:57","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T22:07:57","slug":"sydney-couple-making-400k-from-houses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/sydney-couple-making-400k-from-houses\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney couple making $400k from houses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PHOTO: Now, the couple have ditched the idea of finding a forever home and are focused on flipping properties for profit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"description\">When Sydney couple Aleisha and Matt Lancaster were looking for their forever home with $140,000 in savings, they knew their wouldn\u2019t be much available within their price range.<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-content\">\n<p>\u201cWe knew that we didn\u2019t have much of an option in which suburb we could move into particularly,\u201d Mrs Lancaster tells news.com.au. \u201cWe just looked for anything that fit our budget and we didn\u2019t care where it was, but would make it work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After looking at 100 houses, they snapped up a \u201ctiny one bedroom derelict property\u201d in Beaconsfield in inner city Sydney for $800,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a deceased estate, it needed a lot of maintenance and work. When we walked into the house straight away you could smell bad odour,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey had huge drapery covering all the windows so there was no light, the floors were squeaky, the kitchen was dirty and almost unusable and the bathroom, which was probably the newest addition was about 30 years ago.
