{"id":33592,"date":"2021-07-24T16:30:14","date_gmt":"2021-07-24T04:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=33592"},"modified":"2021-07-24T16:30:14","modified_gmt":"2021-07-24T04:30:14","slug":"joke-250k-savings-wont-buy-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/joke-250k-savings-wont-buy-home\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Joke\u2019: $250k savings won\u2019t buy home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PHOTO: This Sydney family has had to make a drastic move to give them the chance to make their property dreams a reality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"description\">Hazal Cairns is \u201cbitter\u201d about the <a href=\"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?s=Prince+Harry&amp;submit=Search\">Sydney property market<\/a> because despite huge sacrifices to save a deposit of $250,000 her family of three are not able to buy a home.<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-content\">\n<p>The digital expert and her husband, who works for NRMA, have an 18-month-old daughter and chose to move in with Hazal\u2019s parents to boost their ability to save.<\/p>\n<p>But they have watched as house prices skyrocket and pushed <a href=\"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?s=first+home+buyers&amp;submit=Search\">first home buyers<\/a> like them out of the market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were bitter. We were so mad. We worked our butts off and have always had full time jobs and I worked in the digital space and have also done freelance work on the side and we have been saving for over three years now,\u201d she told news.com.au.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t shy away from hard work but when you are working so hard and looking at house prices go up and up and up, it makes you bitter. We are just like \u2013 its ridiculous, it\u2019s a joke. \u201cThen there are shows like <a href=\"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?s=Luxury+Listings+Sydney&amp;submit=Search\">Luxury Listings Sydney<\/a> on Amazon and there are people worth billions buying property and we are thinking how it this fair?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKnowing how many people suffered for the last two years, my husband and I don\u2019t want to watch as it\u2019s depressing, it\u2019s infuriating.
