{"id":35381,"date":"2021-10-30T10:55:20","date_gmt":"2021-10-29T21:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?p=35381"},"modified":"2021-10-30T10:55:20","modified_gmt":"2021-10-29T21:55:20","slug":"sydney-airport-takeover-still-on-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/sydney-airport-takeover-still-on-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney Airport takeover still on cards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>PHOTO: Sydney, Australia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A $23.6 billion takeover bid for <a href=\"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/?s=Sydney&amp;submit=Search\">Sydney<\/a> Airport remains a good chance of progressing as the two groups work towards a deal.<\/p>\n<p>A group of investors and the airport board continue to discuss the proposal after a four-week period for the former to examine the financials of its target concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney Airport on Monday said its board members continued to negotiate transaction documents and, if agreed on, would unanimously recommend securityholders vote for the bid.<\/p>\n<p>A third-party expert would also need to decide the proposal was in the best interest of securityholders.<\/p>\n<p>The Sydney Aviation Alliance consortium, which includes IFM Investors, Queensland super fund QSuper and Global Infrastructure Partners, has offered $8.75 per stapled security.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney Airport declined earlier offers from the group and said they were opportunistic.<\/p>\n<p>The pandemic has caused the value of shares in some companies, such as those in travel, to drop.
