put more pressure on those who are already struggling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_39n3n\">In Esperance, on the state&#8217;s south coast, the council chief executive was this week directed to look at buying two or three properties\u00a0to ease housing issues in the short term.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_39n3n\">They were also directed to\u00a0develop a tender for building homes on three blocks, at West Beach and Castletown, in the longer term.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-featured-img-wrap\"><a class=\"entry-featured-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/propertynoise.co.nz\/au\/interested-in-becoming-a-supporter\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-hoot-medium-thumb  entry-content-featured-img entry-grid-featured-img wp-post-image lazyloaded\" neared\u00a0zero\u00a0per cent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_39n3n\">&#8220;We have people applying for senior management jobs and their first question\u00a0is always, &#8216;Is there any accommodation?'&#8221;\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_39n3n\">Other\u00a0employers also offer housing for their staff, including Southern Ports, which has owned four properties in the town for some time, and\u00a0Esperance Tjaltjraak Native Title Aboriginal Corporation, which has purchased five properties in the past year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"_39n3n\">Esperance real estate agent Paul Blackman said he had\u00a0never seen such high demand from businesses for residential homes during his 27 years in the job.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-featured-img-wrap\"><a class=\"entry-featured-img-link\" Institute of WA chief executive Cath Hart said\u00a0the pattern was occurring across the state\u00a0as vacancy rates reached their lowest level in nearly 42 years in some areas.<\/p>\n<p
