A recent study has revealed that a significant number of residents in Sydney<\/a> are relinquishing their privacy in order to secure a place to live. The study, conducted by the University of Sydney\u2019s School of Architecture, Design, and Planning, highlights share housing as a prevalent solution in the current housing market challenges.<\/p>\n

Led by Professor Nicole Gurran, along with Dr. Zahra Nasreen and Dr. Pranita Shrestha, the study showcases how a growing number of Sydneysiders are resorting to share housing due to the absence of stable and affordable housing options. The study identifies that about four percent of Sydney’s households fall under the “group” category, encompassing unrelated adults cohabitating. In inner Sydney, the percentage of such “group” households has surged to nearly 11 percent.<\/p>\n
