Listed at $39 million, he managed to knock $2 USD million off of the asking price for the 2.5-acre plot.

The original four-bedroom home was constructed in the 1930s and included eight bathrooms, two separate guesthouses, seven fireplaces, a tennis court, a movie theater, a swimming pool, and a pool house.

The Mediterranean-style home enjoyed views of Beverly Hills and the Pacific Ocean, but it seems James envisaged a better way to make the most of the stunning views. The foundations of the new home have begun to take shape, with part of the new property appearing to have been built into the hillside.
