Place honey in a shallow bowl of water to deter ants. Ants can\u2019t swim, so they\u2019ll be unable to get to your honey ???? 2. Store nuts and seeds in the fridge to keep them fresh for months 3. Freeze wilting herbs with oil in ice cubes trays to preserve them. This one is one of Robbie\u2019s favourites and he uses this trick with rosemary, thyme and basil  4. Submerge lemons in water to keep them fresh. Many citrus fruits and porous so submerging them in water can keep them hydrated  5. Keep strawberries fresh for 2 weeks longer by soaking them in 1\/4 cup white vinegar and 3\/4 cup water. Rinse well and then store airtight. 6. Cut the roots off your herbs and then store them in a bouquet with water 7. Store an apple with your potatoes to prevent spouting 8. Add a bay leaves in flour and oats to prevent pantry bugs  9. Add a marshmellow in brown sugar to prevent hardening. This helps capture any excess moisture in the container!
