When Charles and Lana Eade decided to buy a luxury apartment off the plans in an affluent Auckland suburb it looked like a great deal.
The Hereford Residences development in Freeman’s Bay, by developer Tawera Group, included a concierge, live-in manager, swimming pool, gym, theatre and security – there was a lot to like.
The couple bought the property in 2015, through agent Trent Quinton from Bayleys Real Estate, and the settlement went through in July 2017.
Tawera Group’s website boasted the development had won design awards, including an apartment building of the year title. But the Eades claim it was everything but an award-winning experience, according to a recent Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal decision.
