A social media profile that posted a racist property advertisement is fake and has been reported to police, a real estate agent says.
Harveys Real Estate Papakura issued a clarification after a Facebook account, purporting to be property manager Lynette Snook, posted an advert for a rental on Great South Rd that included racist comments.
“No Indians, no Maōris, no n….s [sic],” the since-deleted advert read, before describing a three-bedroom home available for rent at $530 per week.
According to messages cited by Stuff, the person behind the account stated “we prefer white people as tenants” when challenged by a member of the public.
