Aussies blow up at a tactic used by real estate agents, labelling it ‘thoughtless’

A tactic used by real estate agents to advertise property inspections has been labelled a safety hazard.

In a now viral Reddit post, a baffled Sydney resident shared a photo of a Raine and Horne ‘inspect and explore’ flag that was hanging over more than half of the pathway.

The user was shocked that the placement of the flag was accepted.

“Honest question here. I’m blown away this is accepted, my wife just walks around it and shrugs. How do you feel about these?” the user said.

More than 200 passionate responses have since been recorded in the comments section, with many people upset and labelling the placement of the advertisement “thoughtless” and an “obstruction of a public walkway”.

One user said: “If they fine parking for blocking a footpath, they should also fine them.”

Another argued the placement of the flag could prove to be difficult for people with prams or bikes. They commented: “Annoying no thoughts for people with prams or bike.”

A third agreed that the flag was an obstruction to the walkway and said: “Yeah, not the end of the world for those with no impairment, but it could take forever if you have a cane or wheelchair or have some form of disability.”
