LUCKY homeowners in exclusive Sydney pockets are being out earned by their homes, with the value of some properties skyrocketing by more than $1 million in the past year, despite the market across the city significantly cooling.

Newly released data from realestate.com.au revealed eastern suburbs enclave Tamarama as the top performer, with house prices increasing by an average of $1.0875 million over the 12 months to June.

That figure is more than double the $393,467 a year surgeons earn and 13 times higher than the average full-time Australian wage of $81,531.
