CATHERINE Dixon has gone from designing buildings to selling them.
The former architect is part of a growing wave of young women ditching professional careers or study to make big dollars quickly, selling real estate.
Industry figures show the number of women working as real estate agents has more than doubled over the past two decades, growing from roughly 16,400 agents in 1996 to almost 44,800 today.
In 1996 there were 34,200 males working as agents and about 45,500 working currently, according to the Real Estate Institute of NSW.
