When it comes to the pursuit of real estate, it isn’t just Sydney’s private schools buying up their neighbours. The Australian Catholic University has also expanded its North Sydney footprint by buying the last remaining house on its high-density street.
Records show ACU paid $6 million for the four-bedroom house almost a decade after it was sold off by another branch of the Catholic Church.
The 650 square metre property is part of a consolidation of properties on Berry Street west, designed to expand amenities on campus, according to ACU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor and chief operating officer Dr Stephen Weller.
