The buzz around Gold Coast property is set to reach new heights this Saturday when Australia’s largest real estate auction, The Event, takes place at RACV Royal Pines Resort.

The Event is hosted annually by Ray White Surfers Paradise Group (RWSP) and is well known for its energy and excitement.

More than 2000 people turned up to buy and sell last year, with $19 million worth of property changing hands in frenzied bidding.

With an initial 103 properties listed on the 2020 program, this year really does promise to live up to its name by being “the event” for anyone looking at properties in the area, whether they’re upgrading, downsizing or investing.

Organisers are expecting strong interest from interstate buyers this year, as buyer demand continues to push up prices.

The Gold Coast has shown positive growth over the past 12 months, with the latest Domain House Price Report highlighting hotspots of exceptional growth.

In Paradise Point, house prices went up a staggering 24.3 per cent over 2019, while house prices in Runaway Bay, Burleigh Heads and Palm Beach also performed extremely well.

RWSP chief executive Andrew Bell said: “As a group we’ve had a very strong start to the year with 16 sales achieved across the board in the first week of January. Some of these sales have been struck well in excess of the asking price, in some cases 15 per cent above what the vendors expected.”
