Australian food enthusiasts are swarming to a revolutionary drive-thru that offers wallet-friendly meals hailed as both “delicious” and “healthy.”

Recently unveiled in Kedron, Queensland, Marketcart’s latest outpost presents a diverse menu where every dish is priced below $13. Marketcart has ingeniously merged the realms of “fast food” and “healthy eating,” crafting each item from scratch daily with premium Australian ingredients.

Co-owner Andrea Harcourt shares, “Our ethos is straightforward. We believe fast food can align with health consciousness, blending the wholesomeness of farm-fresh ingredients with modern-day convenience.”

Marketcart’s offerings resemble the bounty of a local farmer’s market, spanning from fresh sandwiches and salads to burritos and on-the-go breakfast delights. Harcourt emphasizes that their aim is to make nutritious eating as effortless as indulging in traditional fast food fare.

“Our ability to maintain such affordable prices stems from our decade-long experience and the success of our two existing restaurants,” Harcourt explains. “We wanted to extend our vision of accessible healthy eating to the drive-thru format.”

Marketcart has managed to master the impossible combination of ‘fast food’ and ‘healthy meals’ where all menu items are made from scratch every day

She underscores the meticulous sourcing of premium ingredients from local small-scale producers and farmers. “Our smoothies feature 100% Australian-grown fruits, and all meat and dairy hail from nearby sources. We eschew imported ingredients and avoid common additives and preservatives found in mass-produced food.”

Marketcart prides itself on offering an alternative for health-conscious individuals seeking convenience without compromise. Harcourt asserts that their meals are not merely “diet food” but rather nutritionally balanced, guided by evidence-based principles.

Operating seven days a week, Marketcart’s Kedron Drive Thru caters to early risers, welcoming patrons from 5am on weekdays and 6am on weekends for breakfast and lunch. Additionally, Marketcart boasts cafes in the Royal Brisbane Hospital precinct and the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus, each serving their signature coffee sourced from esteemed local roasters, Bear Bones.
