A massive log house that captured public interest in the Registered Master Builders House of the Years Awards can be rented – at a price.
The house, in a prime position overlooking the Clyde River in Tarras, Otago, has been listed on Bookabach, with an average rental price of $2598 per night. There is a minimum four night’s stay, which means you are likely to pay more than $10,000 for a visit.
And if you think the huge, handcrafted logs are reminiscent of homes in North America you would be right. The five-bedroom house, named River Ridge Lodge, was handcrafted in Canada by Pioneer Homes of BC and shipped to New Zealand, where it was constructed by High Country Carpentry.
