Wellington Airport’s terminal is poised for its biggest facelift in almost 20 years.
The $15 million upgrade is focused on the huge public space of the main terminal on level one, filled with food, beverage, book, clothing and other retailers.
Once it is completed there is likely to be a new array of retailers in the 6000 square metre main terminal space.
The preliminary demolition work has started ahead of the upgrade. Two large airconditioning units which the food and beverage food court is wrapped around are being shifted into the ceiling space.
