Francesca Packer, the 29-year-old billionaire heiress, has successfully sold her luxurious Sydney penthouse after nearly a year on the market. The stunning property, located in the heart of Darlinghurst, fetched a reported $30 million, providing a substantial profit after Packer originally purchased it in 2019 for $16.75 million.
The lavish five-bedroom penthouse spans the entire floor of the prestigious Horizon building, designed by renowned architect Harry Seidler. It boasts breathtaking 360-degree views of Sydney’s iconic skyline and harbour. The Horizon is known for its ultra-luxury features, and Packer’s apartment is no exception, with French Oak herringbone parquetry, Cote D’Azur marble, and bespoke lighting throughout.
The apartment was first listed in November 2023 for an asking price of $32 million. However, after seven months on the market without a buyer, it was relisted in June 2024 for $30 million. Despite the lower price, the property still drew significant interest and was eventually sold to a local buyer for close to the asking price.
Real estate insiders suggest that Packer decided to sell the property to spend more time in London, her alternate home base. The sale of the apartment marks another impressive property transaction for the Packer family, known for their investments in high-end real estate.
Francesca Packer is the granddaughter of the late media mogul Kerry Packer and the niece of billionaire James Packer. Despite her family’s legacy in media and entertainment, Francesca has carved her own path, with substantial property investments and a lavish lifestyle.

The penthouse sale comes as Packer and her boyfriend, Robert Bates, were recently spotted on a luxurious yacht trip through Europe. The couple has been together since 2022 and has been enjoying the high life aboard Francesca’s family yacht, the Arctic P, a $119 million superyacht.

The Horizon penthouse is an architectural masterpiece, featuring five bathrooms, a private lobby, and high-end finishes sourced from around the globe, including marble from Brazil. The building also offers top-tier amenities like a pool, gym, tennis court, and beautifully landscaped gardens, providing residents with the epitome of luxury living.

The agent involved in the sale would not confirm the purchase reported The Wentworth Courier on Thursday. However, real estate insiders informed the publication that Francesca’s apartment recently went under the hammer to a local buyer for ‘close to’ the asking price.
